Important: JD Scanner is an AI-assisted job application tool. It does not guarantee employment, interviews, or any particular outcome. Please read these Terms carefully. We are not providing legal, career, or professional advice.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of JD Scanner at www.jdscanner.com (the "Service"), operated by LockTheGoal.com LLC. By creating an account, checking the consent box at registration, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Account security
When you register, we send a one-time verification code to your email address. You must verify your email before you can use the Service. You may optionally enable email two-factor authentication in your profile; if enabled, we send a code after each successful password sign-in. To change your password while signed in, or to reset a forgotten password, we also email a one-time code.
3. What the Service is (and is not)
JD Scanner helps you analyze job descriptions, compare them to your CV, identify gaps, generate tailored CV content drafts, and prepare for interviews using JD Scanner AI. The Service is for informational and productivity purposes only.
JD Scanner is not a resume-builder or resume-design service. We help guide CV content enhancements for a specific role (fit, clarity, and gap-focused wording). Generated CVs and downloadable PDFs are drafts and starting points. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and formatting documents in your preferred template before submitting them to employers.
We do not guarantee any outcome. We do not promise job offers, interviews, salary increases, visa sponsorship, or hiring decisions. Your results depend on employers, market conditions, and your own actions.
No responsibility for your decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you are solely responsible for any career, application, or life decisions you make based on the Service, including CV content you submit to employers.
4. No professional advice
Nothing in the Service is legal, immigration, tax, medical, or other regulated professional advice. Consult qualified professionals for those matters. The Service is not a substitute for emergency or crisis support.
5. AI-generated content
Outputs from JD Scanner AI may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your situation. You must review and verify all generated content before use, including tailored CV and cover letter drafts and any exported PDFs. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for important decisions. Final formatting and presentation of application materials remain your responsibility.
6. Voluntary support payments
JD Scanner (www.jdscanner.com) is operated by LockTheGoal.com LLC, a for-profit company. We are not a nonprofit or charitable organization, and we do not solicit donations.
The Service is free to use. If you choose, you may make an optional voluntary support payment through our support page when you feel the Service has helped you. Support payments are entirely optional, are not required to use any feature, and do not unlock additional functionality, priority access, or guaranteed outcomes.
Support payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.on Stripe's secure checkout site. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full payment card details on our servers. Stripe may collect payment and billing information needed to complete the transaction, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Voluntary support payments are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Stripe may email you a payment receipt for your records.
Unless required by applicable law, voluntary support payments are non-refundable. If you believe a payment was made in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review your request.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of CV and job description text you upload. You grant us a limited license to process that content to operate the Service (including sending redacted or summarized portions to our AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy). You represent that you have the right to upload the content you provide.
8. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or reverse engineer the platform, upload malware, or use the Service for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCKTHEGOAL.COM LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
